Download Module

Download module is a module in the old version of the MyGDI Explorer that provides online data download services.  This module can be online accessed by registered and approved users. An user id and password is needed to download the data. 

 

This application enables users to search and download data online. Users only need internet access to get data that they want. But the data they can download depend on the data sharing policy which is determined by the data providing agency. 

 

Currently, data can be downloaded from this module by users in the government and students in higher learning institution. This is because the data sharing policy permits users from the government and higher learning institution to get the data for free using this module. For users from the public and private sector, payment is needed before they can download the data. Download module can only cater for data that stored in MaCGDI and free to download. For data that is kept by agency and not free, users need to get it direct from the data providing agency by refering to the metadata information. 

 

For users in the government and higher learning institutions who need the data, they first need to search for the data in MyGDI Explorer at here.

 

Information regarding the data such as the data format, price, type, address and abstract will be displayed to the user. If the user is interested to get the data, an official letter need to be sent to the Director of MaCGDI. If it is approved, users can download the data via the Download Module here.
