2012 : GIS @ School

The main objectives of GIS @ School is to give some exposure to the students and teachers about how geography and technology are related to Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in our life.
 
Besides that, GIS @ School will be able to encourge the GIS community to contribute their iideas and knowledge to the advancement of GIS in Malaysia. For this year's, this GIS @ School event was held in Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pantai Sepang Putra,Sepang, Selangor Darul Ehsan. Its estimated about of 160 students took part in this event.
 

2012 : Visits from Bureau Statistics Bangladesh (2012)

On 8 November 2012 , MaCGDI was visited by six Officers from Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics accompanied by four (4) officers from the Department of Statistics of Malaysia.
 
The visit aims to study the data dissemination activities through Geographical Information System (GIS) and see chronology of the development of Spatial Data Infrastructure (SDI) developed by MaCGDI.
 
They were given an explanation about implementation of SDI in Malaysia , MyGDI Programme and demo on 1Malaysia Map and G4NRE application.

2012 : GIS Day

GIS Day 2012 is one of MaCGDI’s annual activities planned.This is the 1st collaboration between MaCGDI and Paya Indah Wetland to organized GIS Day 2012 together with Paya Indah Wetland Carnival. Jupem,Instun and MaCGDI were worked together to make sure that the GIS Day 2012 become success and achieve the target.
 
GIS Day 2012 was attended by two universities namely Universiti Putra Malaysia and Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Besides that, agencies under NRE was also participated.
