A Disaster Recovery Plan is a strategic plan designed to ensure the continuity of services after an ICT infrastructure disruption or damage occurs. This plan includes recovery measures due to threats such as computer virus attacks, intrusions by hackers, natural disasters, or other damage that may affect the delivery of PGN's ICT services to users and customers.

Disaster Recovery Testing is an annual activity carried out by the National Geospatial Centre (PGN) to ensure the preparedness of all parties involved in restoring ICT systems in the event of a disaster. This activity aims to strengthen officer skills and ensure procedural efficiency in disaster management. The testing was carried out at the Disaster Recovery Center provided by the JDN at PDSA Bandar Enstek, Nilai, Negeri Sembilan.

In addition, this testing aims to verify and ensure that the recovery action plan developed in the Disaster Recovery Management Plan (DRMP) and Disaster Recovery Technical Plan (DRTP) documents is up-to-date, relevant, and implementable. This is to ensure that the recovery process can be carried out effectively and meet the set Recovery Time Objective (RTO).

The testing was successfully carried out with PGN's critical application system successfully restored within 3 hours and 42 minutes compared to the 4 hour period specified in the RTO.

This success is the result of collaboration between JDN, PGN Disaster Recovery Team members and JDN contractors in ensuring that this testing is carried out in accordance with the procedures outlined in the DRMP and DRTP. Each officer has carried out their duties in their respective fields efficiently and skillfully in ensuring the continuity of PGN ICT services in the face of real disasters in the future.
