  • Geographic Names Database (PDNG) is a database that stores geographic names, locations, histories and names that have been verified in a consistent format for government and public use. Gazetir, on the other hand, is an index that lists the geographical names found in the PDG.
  • The entire database is made available to users online through the MyGeoName Application. Users can also download gazetteers through the MyGeoName application.

Reference sources to land administration boundary names are based on State Gazette (JUPEM State) and Office of Land & Mines (State PTG).

Land Administration Boundary Code and Name - Unique Parcel Identifier (UPI) is a method of identifying the location of a parcel of land that contains a series of unique numbers for the State, District/ Colony/ Division/ Daerah Kecil/ Jajahan Kecil, Mukim/ Bandar/ Pekan/ Land/ Town District/ Village and Section/ Precinct/ Block/ Section/ Kampung/ Island and lot number.

Articles that can be contributed to the BGSA Secretariat are articles or reports on geospatial developments and activities held at government agencies, statutory bodies and institutions of higher learning.

PGN accepts work, technical, courtesy and study visits from international agencies, government agencies, statutory bodies, private companies and institutions of higher learning.

Each article received will be evaluated by a committee appointed by the Author. Only selected and approved articles will be included in the BGSA.

No, the preparation and publication of metadata will not interfere with the agency's data security. The preparation of metadata only involves the description of the agency's data/ products/ services in textual form.
