30 MXD File Format

MXD is file format in which the maps created from ArcGIS software can be stored. MXD not only stores maps but also stores the symbology, layout, hyperlinks, toolbars added, etc. at the time of saving the map document. An MXD can be distributed along with the data; hence whenever the MXD is opened the symbology, layout, order of layer always remains same.

31 MyGDI

Malaysia Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MyGDI) is an initiative by the government to develop a geospatial data infrastructure to enhance the awareness about data availability and improve access to geospatial information. MyGDI, as the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI) for Malaysia, is a geospatial data infrastructure that comprises of policies, standards, technology research and development and skilled human resources.

32 MyGDI Data Services

MyGeo Data Services is a web-based application developed for geospatial data sharing between government agencies. This application is specifically for the use of government officials to access shared data between government agencies with government agencies (G2G). Shared data will be published as a secure map service and are included in this application. Fundamental data contained in this application is from NGDC project which is collected, processed and connected (seamless) for Peninsular Malaysia. Fundamental data is divided into 12 data categories, namely Aeronautical, Built Environment, Demarcation, Geology, Hydrography, hypsography, Soil, Transportation, Utility, Vegetation, Special and General Use. The fundamental datasets are the important elements that can be used as the basis for development of other geospatial data.

33 MyGDI Explorer

MyGDI Explorer is a metadata catalogue services which enables user to explore, discover, view and evaluate geospatial data from anywhere and at anytime. MyGDI Explorer simplifies access to geospatial information, promotes better integration, and avoids duplication of efforts and encourages sharing of geospatial information across users and agencies in Malaysia.

34 MyGeoMap

MyGeoMap was developed for the use of the public. Its purpose is to attract the general public and give an understanding on what GIS can do. Public users can search for places of interest such as shop, petrol station, hotel, bank, market and other places, access imagery and vector maps from BING and make interactive search through this application.

35 MyGeoname

MyGeoName applications developed to store all geographical names databases all across the country. It was developed to provide authoritative information relating to the location and spelling of geographical names which are gazetted in a consistent format for the official use of government, industry and the public.

36 MyGeotranslator

MyGeotranslator is an initiative of the Malaysian Centre for Geospatial Data Infrastructure (MaCGDI) to assist and facilitate data providers agency in using geospatial data standard that was developed by MaCGDI through the MyGDI Standard Technical Committee (JTSM) together with the Department of Standards Malaysia (DSM) and Standard and Industrial Research Institute of Malaysia (SIRIM) to facilitate the sharing of data through MyGDI.

37 MyGOS

Malaysia Geospatial Online Services (MyGOS) is a secured platform for sharing of geospatial information through online. It enables you to turn your data into web-enabled services that your whole organization members can use. The Malaysia Geospatial Online Services (MyGOS) provides a platform for users to use and shared trusted geospatial data, services, and applications within their group of members to meet their mission needs.
